Social Concerns of Home Schooling. The social development is one of the major concerns of homeschooling. Many professional educators disapprove of homeschooling because they believe that a homeschooled child has limited interaction to their peers and people from different cultures. It hinders a man’s development and is detrimental to the improvement of his social skills. Though critics condemn homeschooling, studies show that they underestimated homeschooling with regards to the social growth of the child.

They are more possible to pose intellectual questions and truthful observations. Children are great imitators of what they see, with that they are able to pick up authentic qualities from their mentor – their parent. Aside from that, homeschooled children are unlikely to be influenced by their peers, for they are more secured under the supervision and guidance of the parents.

We can say that homeschooled children are most likely equipped to cope with our complex and often unpredictable world. The positive upbringing honed by their parents is sufficient enough to boost the child’s self-esteem and confidence to conquer the world. With this, it is easier to imply that they will grow socially upright into maturity.
