Home Schooling Hours

Home Schooling Hours. One of the main concerns in going to a homeschool is the time to be spent in homeschooling. This is, in fact, one of the things refuted by public schools. Being so flexible is the underlying key principles of homeschooling. This is applicable both in the curriculums and the number of homeschooling hours. First-timer parents tend to become so strict in the studying period of their child that they would almost want their child to go over their books most of the times when their peers are in their regular school. Such is not only a wrong practice but can also be very destructive and unproductive in the learning process of the child.

The reason why most public schools disapprove homeschooling is the alleged waste of time and energy. They said the time is so lax that children would only spend 1-3 hours studying daily. There may be days of intensive studying and other days spent only on games. A lot of “invisible wastage” is obvious in homeschooling hours.

Prior to the start of homeschooling classes, there should already be schedules. Better observe the daily usual homeschooling hours. Though you are just staying in the confines of your home, it is advised that you be strict in following the homeschool schedules. With this, the child is also aware that he has to give importance both to the running time and his studies as well.

Depending on the curriculum that you have adopted, every subject must be on time constraint. However, if you have observed that your child needs to spend more time learning complex subjects like Algebra,  then, all you have to do is adjust your schedule on subjects which seem easy to him, say English. Use several teaching strategies to facilitate the easy learning of your child. Do not dwell on something inappropriate and obsolete.

As misconstrued by many, homeschooling refers not on merely reading the books and other learning materials. Going out to visiting some places of interests, like libraries or factories, and watching documentaries are also some of the activities that constitute the learning process in homeschooling. Studying at home becomes worthwhile when activities such as these are being incorporated. Proper scheduling is just needed.

Never allow the public school hours to interfere your homeschool schedules as you can see that much of their times are mostly misused in futile extracurricular activities. Always bear in mind that a personalized teaching strategy you are employing to your kids is much better than the compartmentalized style imposed in public school. And that is aside from the fact that it is you, the loving mother of your child, who is supervising his education. There lies the assurance that your child learns nothing but the best and the most out of the given homeschool programs. Make sure then, that you are able to appropriately divide the time to be spent in home classes. The more time you allot in homeschooling hours, the more learning happens, thus the smarter your kid will be as he can keep pace with his peers from regular schools.
