Homeschool Field Trips
The activities in homeschools need not really be far from the regular normal schools’ activities. If you think that on a particular subject that you are studying necessitates a conduct of homeschool field trips, by all means do it, design field trip programs and invite other children too if in any way you are connected to other support group.
But before pursuing such an activity, consider these guidelines to have successful homeschool field trips:
- Collect the rates. How much would be spent for such a kind of field trip? Compute the financial contributions that are need.
- Allowed ages. What is the required age group that has to attend this field trip?
- Special highlights. What are the best places to go and visit? Any significant history? Do they have something to do with the children’s homeschool subjects and topics?
- Size of the group. How many children are going? What would be the total number of excursionists or tourists?
- Timings. When is it best to hold this field trip? Will there be any problems?
- Eating facilities. Where do the children spend their meal time? Do they have to provide food for themselves?
Disseminate this information to your support group ahead of time so they are advised of the important details. Agree on where your meeting place will be. Consider the mode of travel that you will be using and be at your homeschool field trip location 10 minutes earlier than your time schedule.
Fun as it may, but homeschool field trips should be more of educational and a learning experience to the home students. Do not forget to advise the children to bring along their writing materials. Give them ample time to stare, admire and scrutinize things. Avoid hurrying them up. Clear their doubts by collecting data beforehand and explain it to them. You may need the assistance of a tour guide here. But most of all, enjoy yourself with the kids. Take pleasure on these amusing and entertaining field trips.
